Now common people can view high quality pictures of any part of the world using their personal computers. This is possible on Bhuvan. ISRO's Indian version of Google earth. It uses satellite images from ISRO.
A beta version of the geoportal www.bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in was launched at a day-long workshop of the Astronautical Society of India.
bhuvan is a new web-based tool and allows users to get a closer and clear view of any part of the Indian subcontinent barring military and nuclear installations and establishments.
You can see most parts of India upto at least six meters of resolution with the least spatial resolution being 55 meters.
