Mayawati is in news again for the BSP Maharally and the garland that was gifted to her on the occassion. According to sources, this garland could be the most expensive political felicitation. Its quite common to see politicians being weighed in coins and garlanded with notes but Mayawati’s supporters took it a new level presenting her with a mammoth garland that was strung together with 1,000-rupee notes. The estimates of Mayawati's garland ranged from Rs 2 crore to Rs 5 crore.
UP Chief Minister Mayawati has often been in controversy for collecting public donations on her birthdays. Mayawati has often flaunted diamond jewellery sets and expensive purses. But the extravaganza to celebrate 25 years of BSP’s existence and 76th birth anniversary of founder Kanshi Ram has certainly set a new sorts of records.
