Ashok Chavan likely to be new Maharashtra CM, New maharashtra Chief Minister may be Ashok Chavan


tHE NAME OF Ashok Chavan, industries minister OF Maharashtra, is being speculated to be among front-runners for the post of Chief Minister of maharashtra. The replacement of Vilasrao Deshmukh is being looked out following mounting pressure on the Congress to sack him in the wake of Mumbai terror attacks.

The discussions regarding the replacement of Vilasrao deshmukh began on Monday afternoon. Ashok Chavan may be considered a strong contender if the party wants to put a Maratha face.

Besides Asok Chavan, there were other candidates too whose names came up for consideration. The chief among them were that of power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Prithviraj Chavan, the minister of state in the PMO.

Prithviraj Chavan may not stand a solid chance as his candidature the NCP may not approve his name for the post of Chief Ministership.

In the wake of deadly terror strikes on Mumbai, the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, summoned the Pakistan High Commissioner Shahid Malik on Monday to lodge protest over the use of Pakistan soil in emnating terrorism in India.

The Pak High commissioner, Malik, was summouned by the Joint Secretary (Pakistan) in the Ministry of External Affairs, T C A Raghavan who issued a demarche to him on the Mumbai terror attacks that is believed to have been carried out by "elements" based in Pakistan.

Maharashtra deputy CM RR Patil Resigned over Mumbai Terror Attacks, Deputy CM of Maharashtra RR Patil Resignation

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil , submitted his resignation to the Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh owning up moral responsibility for the Mumbai terror siege that killed at least 183 people. R.R.Patil was also the in charge of the state home ministry.

R R Patil resigned three days after the terror strikes and his party chief Sharad Pawar has asked the chief minister to accept his resignation. The issue was raised on Sunday at the all-party meeting convened by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh , which was also attended by Sonia Gandhi along with some parties criticizing the CM for his "casual" attitude.

Now, tremendous pressure is on Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, who is on firing line. The Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh along with film director Ram Gopal Varma and his son Ritesh Deshmukh undertook a tour of the ravaged Taj hotel, and that has attracted a lot of criticism.

All India Management Association will conduct MAT Dec 2008 exam on December 7, 2008 (Sunday). You can get your MAT Admit card online through the official website of AIMA. You just need to fill the required information in different fields and can get a print out of you MAT admit card.

The captured terrorist in Mumbai attacks is Azam Amir Kasav

Azam Amir Kasav is the a terrorist captured by the Indian forces for involvement in the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Azam Amir Kasav was captured on Close Circuit TV/CCTV during his attacks at CST/Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus along with another terrorist. According to the Indian securit forces, preliminary investigations show that Azam hails from Faridkot in Pakistan and had received arms training in Pakistan.

Azam has reportedly told the investigating agencies that they wanted to do a JW Marriot on and reduce the Taj Hotel to rubbles.

Azam along with hiscolleague attacked CST/Victoria terminus and then fled towardsto Girgaum Chowpatty in a stolen Skoda. A team of police from Gamdevi station intercepted them. Azam's partner was killed while he was shot on the hand.

The Mumbai nightmare has finally come to an end. The 58-hour-long Operation Cyclone launched by the NSG and the security forces, finally came to an end on Saturday. The national security Guards/NSG took control of the Taj hotel, killing all the 3 terrorists holed inside the hotel. The NSG and other commandos are now searching each and every room of the Taj to find out possible terrorists or explosives.


According to the NSG, all the hostages in the Taj have been killed by the terrorists. The total toll in Mumbai terror attcks has now gone to around 200.

The sanitation of the rooms of the Taj is still going on. Though allthe terrorists have been killed by the NSG commandos and the security forces but the scar it has left on the city, will probably never go, at least from the minds of all those who have lost their near and dear ones.
