Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) is a Social security organisation that provides for benefits to employees in case of sickness, maternity and employment injury and to make provisions for related security.

ESIC Benefits:

The section 46 of the Act has envisaged the following six social security benefits-

1. Medical Benefit

2. Sickness Benefit(SB)

(a)Extended sickness Benefit(ESB)
(b)Enhanced Sickness Benefit

3. Maternity Benefit(MB)

4. Disablement Benefit

(a)Temporary disablement benefit(TDB)
(b)Permanent disablement benefit(PDB)

5. Dependants’ Benefit(DB)

6. Funeral Expenses


In addition to the above mentioned benefits, the ESIC scheme also provides some other need based benefits to insured workers, which include: Rehabilitation allowance,
Vocational Rehabilitation, Unemployment Allowance (Under Rajiv Gandhi Shramik Kalyan Yojana)
