Gujjars have called for Delhi Bandh on Thursday, May 29. Gujjar stir has triggered panic among administrators, office goers and business community, forcing the Centre to put the entire region on high alert and order a massive police deployment in sensitive areas.
Over the last few days, the Gujjars have continued their rampage in Rajasthan and other areas, crippling rail and road ransport. More than 39 people have died in five days of Gujjar violence, spread across Rajasthan and adjoining areas.
Railway services have been worst affected as a resullt of the Guajjar stir. Gujjar protesters have demanded Gujjar inclusion in the ST list and have removed fish-plates and uprooted signals, blocking rail traffic in several parts of western Uttar Pradesh and parts of Rajasthan, delaying a number of trains.
