The Mumbai crime branch arrested a Kannada actress (Maria Monica Susairaj) and her fiancé, (ML Jerome Mathew) a lieutenant in the navy, for the murder of Neeraj Grover, creative head with Synergy Adlabs. The murder is suspected to be the fallout of a love triangle involving the victim and Maria Monica Susairaj and ML Jerome Mathew.
Mr. Rakesh Maria, Joint Commissioner of Police (crime), said that Maria Monica Susairaj was arrested in Mumbai while ML Jerome Mathew was arrested by naval police in Kochi. ML Jerome Mathew was to arrive in Mumbai at night.
Rakesh Maria disclosed that Neeraj Grover, creative head with Synergy Adlabs, was missing since May 7 and thereafter his friends had lodged a complaint. During investigation, the crime branch police learnt Neeraj had left his home on the night of May 6 and gone to Maria Monica Susairaj's place. Monica received a call from ML Jerome Mathew, who got angry after listening to Neeraj's voice. Mathew reached Mumbai the next day and went to soosayiraj's flat, where he found Neeraj. Police officer said that Mathew stabbed Neeraj with a kitchen knife several times in a fit of rage after some argument.
