Russia's Ksenya Sukhinova is the new Miss World 2008. Ksenia Sukhinova was crowned with the title of Miss World 2008 after beating a number of beautiful and intelligent girls, including India's Parvathy Omanakuttan who finished first runner up, at a grand gala in Johannesburg, South African.
The name of the winner of the contest was announced by Julia Morley, head of the Miss World committee that organises the event. She announced that "Miss World 2008 is Russia" .
Inid'a beauty queen Parvathy Omanakuttan narrowly missed out the coveted crown that has earlier been won by five Indian beauty queens Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Heden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999) & Priyanka Chopra (2000).
The second runners up crown went to Gabriel Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago.
